Sometimes it’s nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and Paris has some wonderful public spaces offering tranquillity and relaxation. The Jardin des Tuileries is a formal neo-classical garden set out in geometric patterns with tall trees, shimmering fountains and neatly trimmed topiaries. It was once the garden of the Palais des Tuileries, which was burned down during the Paris Commune in 1871. The Bois de Boulogne, a little outside the city centre, is a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon. It’s the biggest open space in the city and it offers various possibilities for leisure activities. Stroll around the BagatellePark or rose gardens,go boating or cycling, or sit on the grass and enjoy a picnic.
Theme Parks
If you’re looking for something to keep the kids entertained, they’ll love Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Vallée. It’s designed around the familiar Disney themes but with a European touch. There’s Main Street USA, Fantasyland, Frontierland, Adventureland and Discoveryland. You’ll need at least a day there to make the most of it.
